Newsroom

Linda Smith

Linda Smith’s energy, enthusiasm, cheerful attitude and commitment make her a gift not only as a Bereavement Facilitator for Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, but for several other Boards and committees throughout the community.

Linda’s outstanding service was recognized by HVHC Bereavement Services Coordinator Mary-Carol Griffin, who shared that she attends all of our educational events, and has contributed to our programs and services in many ways: as the former pastor of Elm Street Congregational Church in Bucksport, her congregation provided the food for our Bereavement Day Camp for several years and her group of knitting ladies provide comfort shawls for our patient care clients.

Linda is always available to help out with our Holiday Program for those grieving during that often difficult time of year.

Since her retirement, HVHC and those we serve have benefited from her service as a facilitator of support groups and one-on-one bereavement support, including to a patient at a local nursing home where she has done much in terms of advocacy and care.

We are pleased to have Linda as a member of our Bereavement Services team!
