Newsroom

During these trying times, feelings of grief, loss and isolation that many are feeling have grown, and the need for support, understanding and affirmation is high. To provide this needed support, Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County is offering two online support groups, both free of charge and coming right up.

There are two support groups being formed: One for Those Who are Grieving the Loss of a Loved One who has died, and a Caring Support for Caregivers Group (of any type; the caregiving does not have to be for a hospice patient). If you are feeling angry, overwhelmed, frustrated or isolated, this is normal; you are not alone.

The Grieving group will begin by the end of June and the time will be tailored according to the needs of interested participants. The Caregivers group will be held on Fridays at 10 a.m., though start-date is to be determined based on the number of participants. Group sessions will run between 60 and 90 minutes, are confidential, free of charge, and will be conducted via Zoom. If you are not familiar with Zoom, please do not let this stop you. We will walk you through the process prior to the start of the groups; just let us know.

For more information or to register for either of these groups, please call the Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County office at 667-2531, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
