Help us pass the word…
Our annual Caring Hearts Day Camp for individuals, children, and
teens who have experienced the death of a loved one. It will be held
Saturday, August 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nichols Day Camp
in Sedgwick. The camp is designed to be a healing place to gain
insights, learn healthy coping skills, build self-esteem and meet new
friends; all important elements in the healing process.
As a day camp, it offers convenience and accessibility to working
families and individuals with busy lives. The camp is fun and meaningful
for both individuals and families to receive support and be given
permission to grieve. Adults, teens and children meet in their own age
group. Our theme this year is The Power of Music to Inspire, Comfort &
Renew. The day camp provides a wide range of indoor and outdoor
activities and support for all age groups. The camp activities include
group support, swimming, massage, music, healthy creative expression of
emotions, and much more. A meaningful remembrance service followed by an
outdoor barbecue helps to punctuate our day. It will be a wonderful day
of fun and healing.
The Caring Hearts Day Camp is free of charge. Pre-registration is
required. Interested individuals and families must register by August
10th. A responsible adult must accompany individuals 16 and under. If
you know of anyone who benefit from attending, have them call the
Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County office, at 667-2531.
