The
Caring Hearts Bereavement Program at Hospice Volunteers of Hancock
County offers individual
and group support for adults, children and teens after a death from illness,
accident or suicide. Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County supports schools and churches
according to their needs and interests. Hospice Volunteers of Hancock
County shares
their lending library list with all public libraries, and notifies guidance
counselors when local and state workshops are available. Hospice
Volunteers of Hancock County offers Bereavement Services for the families of our patients and
for people in the community at large. Any agency or individual who wants
individual or group bereavement services please contact Mary-Carol Griffin,
Bereavement Services Coordinator @ 667-2531.

Volunteers of Hancock County also invites you to explore another web site
which offers information related to death and dying in America. The Web site includes a 15-part series, “Finding Our Way: Living with Dying in America.” The articles are written by national leaders in the fields of medicine, sociology, theology and culture and explore issues facing seriously ill Americans, their families, caregivers and communities. The information can be accessed through

Volunteers of Hancock County invites you to attend one of the following Fall Support
Groups being held at the hospice house.
April 10, Spring Bereavement

- Parents Who Have Lost a Teen or Adult Children(7

- Survivors of Loved Ones Who Have Completed Suicide
(6 Weeks)
Support groups are held in a safe and confidential
environment with trained facilitators.
If you are interested in a attending a support group, please call the
Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County office to request a registration form. Complete
the form and return it to our office as soon as possible.
Please feel free to share this information with others who would benefit
from these services. Our services are free of charge.
Pre-registration is required.

Tuesdays 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Ellsworth
Help others work through their grief by facilitating bereavement support
groups. Learn about the grieving process, a mind-body interaction, and
promote emotional health. Understand the wide variety of responses to loss.
Nine-week training for those who want to understand more about the grieving
process and who want to support those who are grieving the loss of a loved
one. Registration and interview are required. Call 667-2531. $50
registration fee.
