The fall 2007 Bereavement Facilitators

The
Caring Hearts Bereavement Program at Hospice of Hancock County offers individual
and group support for adults, children and teens after a death from illness,
accident or suicide. Hospice of Hancock County supports schools and churches
according to their needs and interests. Hospice of Hancock County shares
their lending library list with all public libraries, and notifies guidance
counselors when local and state workshops are available. Hospice of Hancock
County offers Bereavement Services for the families of our patients and
for people in the community at large. Any agency or individual who wants

Hospice of Hancock County also invites you to explore another web site
which offers information related to death and dying in America. The Web site includes a 15-part series, “Finding Our Way: Living with Dying in America.” The articles are written by national leaders in the fields of medicine, sociology, theology and culture and explore issues facing seriously ill Americans, their families, caregivers and communities. The information can be accessed through

Groups are small, pre-registration required. For registration or further

Groups include:
- Widow & Widower
- Adults who Have Lost a Parent or Sibling
- Parents Who Have Lost Adult Children
- Survivors Who’ve Lost Loved Ones to Suicide
All groups will be offered in Ellsworth and have some
preliminary information that needs to be gathered from
participants, so please call Hospice of Hancock County at
667-2531 right away.

We run our volunteer trainings in the spring and fall.
Bereavement Facilitator Volunteer Training
The 9 week Bereavement Facilitators Training is offered twice yearly in the
spring and fall. Meeting once per week, time in training is approximately 30
hours. Please call for more information.

Help others work through their grief by facilitating bereavement
support groups. Learn about the grieving process, a mind-body
interaction, and promote emotional health. Understand the wide
variety of responses to loss. Health care providers are welcome to
attend. Registration and interview are required. Call 667-2531.
